Welcome To The Oranmore Judo Club.

We are an active judo club based in Oranmore, Co. Galway, Ireland.

A parent of one of our Judoka wrote this Facebook review (April 2016): “This is a fantastic club for kids and adults of all ages. Tony and the other coaches are so helpful and encouraging and do fantastic work. It’s done wonders for our lad.”  Thanks, Mark.

The club is managed by Anthony Allen, 4th Dan, Level 2 coach (kneeling, left, below).

We aim to make judo accessible to all.

One way we achieve this is to keep costs to a minimum – we don’t have glossy brochures, we don’t advertise, we are not funded by commercial organisations, nor by the Sports Council.

With Judo, we have no professionals in the same sense as other sports. No one is allowed to take part in public entertainment for personal gain. Jigaro Kano, Budokwai Bulletin (April 1947)

Oranmore Judo Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators, and parents associated with the club should, at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and share any concerns or complaints they may have about any aspect of the club with the coaches and with Tony Allen, 4th Dan Black Belt and club Sensei (Senior teacher).
